About Me

Who Am I?

I'm Matteo Pedersoli and I graduated at University of Milan - Italy, in 2018. I started working while I was still at university as system engineer in a medium-large company focusing on enterprise systems such as IAM, service manager, backup, security endpoint management, server management. Over time by moving to larger companies I have vertically enhanced my knowledge in specific security products, such as PAM, MFA, database protection, SOAR.

I divide my free time between the gym, which helps me to free my mind and structure my life in a rigorous way, and exploring the technological innovations in the IT field. I also enjoy facing online challenges designed to find exploits in purpose-built systems.

Work Experience

Security Specialist at IBM July 2021 - Now

I collaborated in the management of IBM Resilient platform, both by tuning the configurations on the system side, and by collaborating on the application side in the development of new integrations.
I dealt with the management of the customers' CyberArk infrastructure: installation and upgrade, performance tuning, throubleshooting, safe management and daily activity. I have developed interfaces for automating provisioning and account management flows.
I developed java code to add new interfaces to a RESTful application, taking part in the entire development cycle.
I worked on the integration of external IdPs on Azure and on PIM management.

Security Services Specialist at IBM CIC December 2018 - June 2021

I worked almost daily in close contact with the customer - Unicredit - taking care of first and second level support for a series of IT security infrastructure products.
I was able to deepen my knowledge in the field of double-factor authentication, working with Broadcom Siteminder to solve UDS synchronization problems, domain federation, API integration, arcot policy configuration.
Through the IBM IGI tool and the integration with IBM TDI (now IBM Security Directory Integrator) I collaborated in the management of identity governance.
I work on the support of a custom RESTfull application developed in java, used to expose the features required by the PSD2 directive.
My team was also involved in collaborating in the maintenance of the IBM Guardium infrastructure, carrying out the daily operations to guarantee the correct operation of one of the largest Guardium infrastructures in Europe.
I was responsible for implementing and tuning monitoring for some application.

System Delivery at Mauden S.p.A. June 2018 - November 2018

I was responsible for the implementation of backup systems, from new installations to updates, from migration to DR plans, mainly using IBM Spectrum Protect technology.
I also take care of the installation and configuration of storage systems, contributing to the design of the solution.

System engineering ICT at Tenova S.p.A. November 2016 - May 2018

I took care of all the daily operations for the maintenance of the domain and of the infrastructures.
I participated in the design and implementation of the dedicated backup network, configuring and maintaining the IBM Spectrum Protect platform.
I have cooperated in the configuration and maintenance of firewall rules and IPS for client antiviruses.
I helped in the management of about 300 virtual windows servers installed on vmware infrastructure.
I also supervised the penetration test and collaborated in the drafting and implementation of the remediation plan.
